How to connect Mocxam to ChatGPT

Short answer: Turn on Developer Mode in ChatGPT settings, open chatgpt.com/plugins, click + to add a custom MCP server, name it Mocxam, paste https://api.mocxam.com/mcp and choose OAuth. Sign in with your Mocxam login. Custom MCP servers need a paid ChatGPT plan today.

ChatGPT connects to outside apps through MCP. Until Mocxam is approved in OpenAI's app directory, you add it yourself as a custom server, which ChatGPT allows on paid plans with Developer Mode switched on.

Before you start

  • A Mocxam admin or faculty login at an institute on Academy Pro or above
  • A paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise). Free ChatGPT accounts can only use apps from the directory
  • On Business or Enterprise, a workspace admin may need to allow Developer Mode

Step by step

  • In ChatGPT, open Settings and switch on Developer Mode
  • Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and click +
  • Add a custom MCP server named Mocxam with the address https://api.mocxam.com/mcp
  • Choose OAuth as the authentication
  • Sign in with your Mocxam login (or click Allow if you are already signed in on mocxam.com) and approve the permissions
  • In a new chat, enable Mocxam and ask: "List my batches"

Write actions ask first

When ChatGPT wants to save questions or change your portal, it asks you to confirm. Mocxam adds its own preview step for branding and staff changes, so nothing changes until you agree.

If it does not work

  • You do not see Developer Mode: your plan or workspace does not allow custom servers
  • ChatGPT answers from memory: turn the Mocxam app on for that chat, or say "use Mocxam"
  • Sign-in loop: sign in on mocxam.com first in the same browser, then retry

Not yet. Free ChatGPT accounts can only use apps listed in OpenAI's directory. Use Claude Free, or a paid ChatGPT plan with Developer Mode.

Is the same connector used for Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. Both use the same address and the same Mocxam sign-in.

Does OpenAI get my whole database?

No. ChatGPT only receives the answer to each request a teacher makes, for that teacher's institute.
